Quoting Bob Garrett:
<<Your "Beep! Beep!" song MIGHT have been "Roadrunner" by Bo Diddley.
Of
course, there may be another "Beep! Beep!" song that I just don't recall or
haven't heard.>>
And replying:
The "Beep! Beep'!" song I remember as an already-oldie from childhood
begins:
"While riding in my Cadillac,
What to my surprise
A little Nash Rambler was following me -
About one-third my size.
Beep, beep! Beep, beep! His horn went beep, beep, beep!"
The song concludes with the memorable lines:
"Hey, buddy, how do you get this car
Out of second gear????"
Ah, memories. Is that the same song? For another road trip number (can't
recall the artist,) how about "Me and You and Dog Named Boo"? Or "Elusive
Dreams" (I recall Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood doing that one)?
