Ref. Req.: James Wormley

Greetings.

Thanks for all your help yesterday re: NUCMC. Now I was wondering if
anyone can help a patron of mine. She is looking for information on
James Wormley, a free man of color and entrepreneur in Washington DC.
He owned the Wormley Hotel in that city, site of the "Wormley Agreement"
between the Tilden and Hayes camps settling the disputed presidential
election of 1876. I have checked NUCMC (as you all know) and Google,
and have located a few items, such as letters in the Massachusetts
Historical Society. If anyone has or knows of any other information on
Mr. Wormley or that deals directly with the agreement/conference that
bears his name, please respond directly to my patron at the following
e-mail address: <cgelderm@uno.edu>.

Thank you.
