WALTER P. REUTHER LIBRARY/ARCHIVES OF LABOR AND URBAN AFFAIRS
ARCHIVIST/LIBRARIAN POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT


Wayne State University, a Carnegie I research university, invites applications for the position of archivist/librarian for the Walter P. Reuther Library/Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs located in the College of Urban, Labor and Metropolitan Affairs (CULMA).  The Walter P. Reuther Library collects, preserves and provides access to the historical records documenting the modern American labor movement, the development of urban southeastern Michigan, and the history of Wayne State University.

Duties
The successful candidate will be required to assume the responsibility of appraising, organizing, cataloging, preserving and making available for research and reference various collections from the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs. The candidate will be responsible for the translation of Spanish language materials in the collections of the United Farm Workers, Farm Labor Organizing Committee, Industrial Workers of the World and any other collections that are in need of Spanish translation.  In addition to the responsibilities of the position, the successful candidate will be expected to perform other duties or projects as assigned, including reference desk service.

Requirements


Salary is competitive and negotiable, depending upon experience and background.  Excellent salary, benefit and retirement package.  Successful candidate will be represented by the American Association of University Professors-American Federation of Teachers (AAUP-AFT).
