non-matriculation status in grad school

Hi Everyone,

I'm contemplating attending grad school to study records management.
However, I already have a graduate degree in Library Science and a
nearly-completed Ph.D. in the same. Throwing myself into yet another
full-blown grad school schedule does not particularly appeal and I would
like to take just a few courses as a non-matriculated student instead. Does
anyone have any light to cast upon this course of action? Is it foolhardy or
wise? How accepting are employers of such non-credit 'qualifications'?

Many thanks for your help,
Colleen A. Phelan
