educational opportunity

Genealogy 101: An Introduction to American Genealogy for Archivists,
Librarians, and Records Administers, an all day workshop designed for
advanced genealogical research and reference, will be offered on Monday,
August 27, 2001 as one of the preconference educational workshops of the
Society of American Archivists annual meeting in Washington, DC. Class will
be held at the Washington Hilton and Towers in Washington. The instructor is
Russell P. Baker, Assistant Director of the Arkansas History Commission and
State Archives in Little Rock, AR, a nationally known genealogical lecturer
with over 30 years of family history and archival research experience. The
SAA has agreed to open sessions of this workshop to non-SAA members who wish
to attend upon payment of the class fee. This is rare opportunity to get a
systematic look at the world of genealogists and genealogy from the archival
services point of view. Contact Mr. Baker directly.
