Re: Archivists rock! (re: Roses)



I've enjoyed this thread, even though I've heard it a million times before.

Here's the other side of the coin: I am a librarian, Librarian, LIBRARIAN, L-I-B-R-A-R-I-A-N to whom
has fallen some of the responsiblity for maintaining the archives of this institution. I get very
upset when people call me an archivist, not because I feel insulted, but because they are
attributing to me qualifications which I do not possess. To call me a archivist is unfair to all the
real archivists who have worked very hard to become certified.

I learn a lot from this list, I value my archivist cyber-colleagues very highly, and I defend their
profession whenever the need arises.
