To maintain accurate records until a new ordinance is effective, the city
will track all commercial garbage accounts, conduct weekly reviews, begin
semiannual audits of accounts and implement a work order system to track new
accounts. 
This course of action was designed after city staff discovered a $200,000
revenue collection undercharge in the city's commercial garbage collection
account.

VIRGINIA BEACH -- A city investigation into allegations of document
destruction at the Virginia Marine Science Museum has found no evidence of
wrongdoing. 
The report, released Wednesday, says there is little basis for allegations
made by Paul J. Seigel, the museum's former development director, that the
museum destroyed documents after a judge ordered information turned over to
opponents of a proposed dolphin exhibit.
