Re: Linear Feet

Since a cubic foot box will occupy either 15" if stored sideways on the
shelf or 12" if stored narrow-wise. So actually the box occupies
1.25 linear fee if 15" or l linear foot if 12". That begs the entire issue
of depth and cubic footage.....but most librarians with whom I discuss
linear feet will also argue that books themselves have varying depths..
so an Oversize section will have the same linear footage as a
regular book section even if they occupy more depth.

So the formula by this method is 1 cubic foot = 1 linear foot.

Anyone else with different calculations?
