Question re: records boxes

I realize that it is late Friday afternoon and everyone has left for the day, but I thought I would take a chance. I am processing a collection that contains two types of record boxes dating from ca. 1887. They are both oblong and are designed so that an inner box fits into an outer shell. They both have a brass ring on the end for ease of opening. The way they differ is material and size. The first is: 4 3/8"w x 4 3/8" high x 10" deep. It is made out of very heavy cardboard, and the outside is covered with paper that loosely resembles faux marble in brown, black and white. The other box is 4 1/16"w x 3" high and 9 3/8" deep. This one is constructed of an oak colored "Oak Tag Board". Embossed with (illeg) March 20th/1877/Chas C. Chamberlain/Manufacturer/New York/~Patentee.~.

Do these have a name?
