Re: Friday Funnies - bumper stickers



In New Orleans, thousands of cars sport bright red bumper stickers
proclaiming "You Can't Beat Our Meat," which is the slogan of the Wagner's
Meat Market chain here.

Funny, but it doesn't make me want to go there.

Which reminds me -- and this was not a bumper sticker, but a real, and
understandably short-lived,
slogan on Acme Markets advertising posters in Southeastern Pennsylvania in
the mid-1970s:

"You can't beat out meat!"
