Helen Keller archives, status after 9/11/01?
Mostly out of personal and professional curiosity, does
anyone know the status of the archives at Helen Keller
International (apparently right near the WTC and
demolished)? I can only find a little bit of info, from the
web, from USA today, from HKI's public info site, which
describes it as a "total loss" of the historic letters and
photos collections held by their organization. How much of
their collection represented the available Keller papers
out there? I realize there are other pockets of materials,
but was this *The Collection* of HK personal papers/photos?
In light of the massive destruction and incomprehensible
loss of lives, I find myself wondering about the
(relatively) smallish losses, the non-human but still
irreplaceable.
