Sept. 11 Documentary Project (was "Archivist documentation of disaster")

The NPR segment on the September 11 documentary project was very good
indeed. A few points about the project:

Ann Hoog, a Folklife Specialist and reference staff person, was the one who
suggested the project in the meeting on September 12, which I attended with
the staff of the American Folklife Center. I feel it's important to give her
credit here, since her name was not given in the NPR report, and the unnamed
person was called a "Reference Specialist."

Submissions for the project will be accepted until December 1, 2001. If
you're interested in participating, or would just like to know more, please
contact the Folklife reading room staff:

phone: 202-707-5510
fax: 202-707-2076
e-mail: folklife@loc.gov

By the way, the NPR segment should be archived on the NPR site. I can post
the link tomorrow.

Sincerely,
Marcia Segal, Archivist
American Folklife Center
Library of Congress
