Georgia Archives Week 2001 Activities

Georgia is celebrating Georgia Archives Week from October 8-14, 2001. The
2001 theme for Georgia Archives Week, "Investigate Your History," was
designed to help not only those researching family history, but those
researching any topic which helps to bring out the complexity and depth of
Georgia's history.

The purpose of Georgia Archives Week is to celebrate the value of Georgia's
historical records, publicize the many ways historical records enrich our
lives, and recognize those who maintain our communities' historical records.

See what the archival and historical communities are planning statewide:
http://www.soga.org/aw/2001/awa2001.html. Activities are taking place from
Catoosa County in north Georgia to the city of Valdosta in south Georgia.
Many of these events focus on local and family history, and encourage
participation from the community. Come and be a part of Georgia history!

If you know of other events that are taking place in Georgia, or have
questions or comments, please contact Pamela Coleman at 404-651-6474 or at
archivesweek@soga.org.

Sincerely,
Pamela W. Coleman
Chair, Georgia Archives Week 2001 Committee
