make the archival community aware of it.

If you read this definition (in a fire protection standard), would it be
satisfactory to you?

Please review the following and give your comments- this is being asked
because of a proposed revision to the definition in the3 current standard
NFPA 232-2000, which closes for comment tomorrow, 10.5.2001

Or would this seem more appropriate:

with historical, vital, or permanent value.

Archival Storage
The building or part of a building where archival materials are located.

Or would THIS seem best:
(ARMA Glossary DEFINITION, PROPOSED FOR INCLUSION BY ARMA REP)

organization in the course of the conduct of affairs, and preserved because
of their historical or continuing value. (2) The building or part of a
building where archival materials are located.

Or would you suggest something MORE appropriate??
