Documenting NYC makeshift memorials

I am posing this question to the list for David Levy.  Many of you will remember that David was the keynote speaker at SAA in Denver; his topic was "The Object in Question:  Searching for the Elusive Digital Document."  He is now a professor in the Information School at the University of Washington.

David would like to get in contact with archivists who are attempting to document or preserve the makeshift (spontaneous?) memorials that sprang up and continue to evolve in NYC following the 9/11 tragedy.  He is interested in how this documentation is being done whether by collecting the materials, photographing the sites, etc.  He is also interested in the nature of remembrance and the definition of record/document in the aftermath of this event.

Would anyone who is working on documenting/preserving the memorials please respond to me and I will pass names and contact information along to David.
