Re: Scanned Photographs

Your question has two answers. Scanned as in photos placed into digital
format/storage, guesstimate is 10 years on cd or such format, or perhaps 2-3
years depending on how the electronically stored data is protected, and if
its refreshed periodically.

Scanned as in printed on paper, depends on paper and resolution quality,
quality of the printer itself, and depending on light exposure (any kind of
light apparently, but of course sunlight is the most severe?), but
approximately 2-5 years, perhaps 10-15 max. These are all guesstimates
because no real "hands on" time has elapsed to show actual useage
experience.

In other words, a burned CD copy is the only strong, reliable methodology
for longterm at this point, safe in a variety of regards.
