If you use Boston Public Library Regional, Statewide Reference and
Referral Center Massachusetts Library of Last Recourse or work there,
if your're interested in how BPL works back stage so to speak behind
the scenes to present collections and services, ask for the
legitimately public reports on the BPL from BPL departmental
divisions and units, from BPL curators and from city public library
consultants.
It's useful information for navigating BPL buildings' floors,
departments and collections more effectively.
Ironically, it will be necessary to send a copy of the request to the
state Public Records Division to ensure action on the request as
BPL hasn't been ready to provide this kind of public information

Management of municipal public records hasn't met the practice of
records management practice standards

Symptomatic and signal of the wider City Hall problem to develop and
encourage greater citizen participation in open government,
state/local FOI, sunshine open meetings and intellectual freedom
has been abridged.
Here's information about state/local FOI
