State Library of Massachusetts Celebrates

The archival community is invited to attend the State Library of
Massachusetts 175th Anniversary Celebration. It will be held on December
4 from noon to four p.m. in Room 341 of the State House (George Fingold
Library), Boston. The quickest way to reach the library is through the
Beacon Street entrance and to take the elevator to the third floor.
Refreshments will be served and items from the State Library's Special
Collections department will be on display.

Since its formal establishment in 1826, and starting from a collection
of maps, statute books and government documents, the State Library of
Massachusetts has grown into a multifaceted research library serving
legislators, executive branch personnel, state employees, historians,
scholars, researchers, and interested citizens.
