Digital audio advice - summary

Thanks to everyone who replied to my request for advice on using digital
audio for oral histories. All off-list replies from those who have
collected oral histories using digital equipment indicated they chose DAT
systems. No one advocated for MiniDisc technology.

No one indicated problems with the concept or practice of making digital
oral history recordings other than mechanical problems that any recording
device might fall prey to. One reply emphasized that digital sound quality
is much better than analog. Another included that their master digital
recording is copied twice making an analog master and a use copy.

Thanks again,
Barb
