Innocence and Despair



No, nothing about sinister plots and nefarious doings (although I
appreciated the variety of opinions in the thread).

The Langley School Music Project/"Innocence and Despair" CD is giving
Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and Elton John a run for their money this
holiday season. Outside music archivist Irwin Chusid, who introduced acts
like the Shaggs and Esquivel on an unsuspecting world (and if you've ever
heard the Shaggs, you'll know what I mean), helped re-release this
collection of cover songs originally recorded on 2-track tape in a school
gym by rural Canadian kids in 1976-77.  NPR did a story on this recently,
