However, one must remember, or at least I remember as a child we were taught to say "he"  or "man" for all humans.  I have to admit that I am glad we no longer do this, but it is how _I_ was taught in the 50s and early 60s.

The 30s shouldn't make any difference, particularly since they have a woman VP.
