Digitization Workshop in Chapel Hill

Just in case anyone missed this announcement prior to the holidays....
Slots are filling fast and the registration fee goes up after Feb. 1. This
should be a fabulous week. It's spring break and the campus should be
spring-like and peaceful. So, don't let the undergraduates at the beach have
all the fun that week - come and join us.

The UNC-Chapel Hill School of Information and Library Science (SILS), in
conjunction with the Humanities Advanced Technology and Information
Institute (HATII) of Glasgow University, Scotland, and Rice University's
Fondren Library, is pleased to announce the third Digitization for Cultural
Heritage Professionals course, March 10-15, 2002. Cost information, course
details and an online registration form can be found at
http://www.ils.unc.edu/DCHP/.

This one-week intensive course will consist of lectures, seminars, lab-based
practicals (offering both guided instruction as well as an opportunity for
individual practice) and visits to the UNC Library. The teaching team
includes Drs. Seamus Ross and Ian Anderson from Glasgow, Helen Tibbo from
UNC-CH, and Paul Conway from Duke University.

Enrollment is limited, so register early.

For course content questions, contact Dr. Helen Tibbo at (919) 962-8063 or

For registration questions, contact David MacDonald at (919) 843-8337 or
