PRESS RELEASE
January 18, 2002

John Benjamins Publishing & Antiquariat - Honorary
Patron of ARLIS/NA Conference Speakers Fund.

The Art Libraries Society of North America has
received a commitment from John Benjamins
Publishing & Antiquariat for two additional
donations to the ARLIS/NA Conference Speakers
Fund. The amounts to be donated in 2002 and 2003
match a
significant donation made by John Benjamins
Publishing & Antiquariat in 2001 to launch the
Fund.

In acknowledgement of his continuing commitment
and support, John Benjamins has been named
Honorary Patron of the ARLIS/NA Conference
Speakers Fund. The purpose of the Fund is to
provide annual grants or awards to attract
external speakers to ARLIS/NA conferences,
workshops, and meetings. The ARLIS/NA Conference
Speakers Fund supports the Society's Goal to
develop stimulating and pertinent programs that
meet the needs and support the activities of all
members and components of the Society.

To build on John Benjamin's generous donations, a
Silent Auction will be held during the joint
ARLIS/NA-VRA Conference at the Hyatt Regency at
Union Station in St. Louis. 50% of the proceeds
will go to the ARLIS/NA Conference Speakers Fund.
At the commencement of the Silent Auction (4pm
Saturday, March 23rd), Mr. Ted Goodman, ARLIS/NA
President, will officially acknowledge and salute
John Benjamins Publishing & Antiquariat, for their
generous gifts and continuing support for the
Fund.
