Aaaaaaah! good ol' Cyrillic, could also be Rusyn, Ukrainian or any of a
number of different East European languages.
You aren't that far from either Rice University or Uof Houston. I would run
a photocopy or send a fax to their East European language departments asking
for their assistance. they should be able to identify the alphabet and the
language.
