what would be the responsibilities for this position? I would assume such an
individual would need to have a solid knowledge of business
process/workflow, systems analysis as well as the traditional RM background.
The individual should be able to talk and understand geek talk fairly well
ie they won't get a blank look on their face when words such as throughput,
pipeline, mips, bips thin/fat client, sits lightly on the desktop,
attributes, cpu, dpi, and much more.

RMs are more and more tackling the issues of electronic records so I
personally don't see this a being a distinct position. If you take a look at
some of the past Technology postings for RAIN you will see some of the
issues that a RM must be aware of, cognizant of and conversant about. RMs
must be aware of such issues as instant messaging and how it relates to
records (they are records for the securities industry), electronic
signatures, voice mail retention, software integration and an interesting
thing I saw at FOSE 2002 here in DC -- voice authentication. Seems this
particular software can be linked to records.

Estimated salary for someone in this position? With good experience (and CRM
preferred) I would estimate at a minimum of $50K and going up. Don't hold me
to it, but this is what I see. This does all depend upon the
responsibilities of the position and at what level within the corporation
the position will be found.

this opinion and $2.25 may get you a good cuppa joe at Starbucks
