REFERENCE AND SPECIAL COLLECTIONS LIBRARIAN:
Auburn University Libraries, Auburn, AL, seek a
knowledgeable and enthusiastic reference and
special collections librarian to participate in
general and subject reference assistance,
bibliographic instruction, and collection
management in rare books and other print material
in special collections. Duties include liaison and
consultation with academic faculty. The position
is a dual appointment reporting to the Head,
Special Collections & Archives and the Chair of
Reference and Instruction Services.  REQUIRED:  An
ALA-accredited MLS; proven strong and effective
interpersonal, communication; commitment to
excellence; adaptability, flexibility, and ability
to contribute collegially and productively in a
team
environment; and a commitment to learn and employ
emerging technologies to enhance user services in
a collaborative, busy, and changing public
services environment. DESIRED: A record of
scholarly, professional, and research activity and
demonstrated computer and teaching skills.
Twelve-month tenure track position.

 WOMEN AND ETHNIC MINORITIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO

Benefits include 20 days vacation; 12 days sick
leave; participation in state teachers retirement
(mandatory); other additional voluntary retirement
plans available; health/life/disability
insurance.  Salary $39,050 minimum, higher with
experience.  Application review process begins
June 1, 2002 and continues until a candidate is
recommended for appointment. Complete application
