Hey all,

I've heard that there is a project called "The Center to Preserve Music
Culture" in San Francisco that has a TON of vintage KSAN master radio shows
on reels (among many other things). They are trying to drum up funding for
digital transfers, but it looks like the entire project is about to go
under. They don't even have enough money to keep up their web space any
more...

Are there any high tech geeks in U-SPACES that would be willing to assist in
transferring these reels to digital format? I don't know the exact formats
required, but as I understand, some of the reels are pretty fried and would
need to be "baked" before they are transferred.

I think their vision was to set up a museum/library where people could come
in an listen to this stuff.

Let me know if anyone has any ideas on how to restore this stuff, cheaply,
and I'll try to link you up with them.

Thanks,

BEN
