SCAA Officers 2003

DIRECTOR
SCAA is off to a strong start! Our members have contributed their time,
talents, and enthusiasm
to provide excellent leadership and make SCAA successful in its three year
history. Let?s continue this record.
Have you considered serving as a leader? SCAA provides you with an
opportunity to make a difference in the field of archives. As a member of
the Executive Board, which meets four times a year, you will help determine
future goals and activities for South Carolina?s archival community.
Nominees are needed for these positions on the 2003 Executive Board:
Vice-President/President Elect?a two year term
Director?a two year term
Treasurer?a two year term
If you are interested in serving, you may contact Nominating Committee

If you know others who might serve, ask them! All nominees must be members
in good standing.
If you wish to know more about a specific office, job descriptions are found
on the back of this page. Visit the SCAA website at
www.state.sc.us/scdah/scaa.htm to see all job descriptions and a current
list of members. Also, the Nominating Committee will be happy to answer any
questions you may have.
The election will take place at the Fall Meeting, tentatively set for early
October. Biographical information on all candidates will be sent to all
members before the meeting.
Deadline for submitting names is May 31, 2002.
Job Descriptions of Officers
(from the SCAA Bylaws)
VICE-PRESIDENT/PRESIDENT-ELECT
The Vice-President shall perform the duties of the president in case of the
president's resignation or absence. The vice president shall serve as the
president-elect and as the official Association liaison with other
organizations or committees with which the Association cooperates, and shall
perform other duties as requested by the president.
TREASURER
The Treasurer shall have custody of all funds belonging to the Association
and shall disburse them in accordance with the annual budget or upon the
expressed authority of the Executive Board. The treasurer shall keep
accurate records of all financial transactions, shall deposit and disburse
funds in a timely manner, shall present current budget reports at each
meeting of the Executive Board and at the business meeting, and shall
present for Executive Board approval a final written budget report at the
end of the calendar year. The treasurer shall present for Executive Board
approval a proposed budget for the following year at the first meeting of
each fiscal year.
DIRECTORS
Directors (1st year): Directors in their first year shall serve on the
Program Committee and perform other duties as requested by the Executive
Board or president.
Directors (2nd year): Directors in their second year shall chair the Program
Committee, coordinate arrangements for the annual meeting, and perform other
duties as requested by the Executive Board or president
