Job Openings at the Congressional Research Service



The Congressional Research Service (CRS) is seeking a Specialist in Federal Government Information Policy, GS-15 ($92,060 - $119,682) and an Analyst in Federal Government Information Policy, GS-14 ($78,265 - $101,742) to analyze issues related to the management of government information, including the effects of technology on its creation, collection, classification, management, dissemination, protection, and storage (archiving).  The incumbents will provide objective, expert public policy analysis and consultation to congressional committees, Members, and staff; prepare innovative analytical studies on issues related to federal government information policy; and plan and lead multidiciplinary team research projects and seminars.  The specialist position will provide senior leadership and policy expertise.

These positions require demonstrated knowledge of American national government information policy; knowledge of congressional decision-making processes; the ability to perform public policy analysis; the ability to design and utilize analytical methods and techniques; and the ability to collaborate with individuals at a variety of levels and across a range of disciplines.  The positions also require strong leadership, writing, and oral communication skills; the ability to exercise objectivity, judgment, and discretion; the ability to build and maintain a professional network; and the ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment.
