Re: strange reference questions

I'm on evening desk duty til 10, and it's 9:58 at the reference desk. Two
young women come racing into the library and sprint over to the reference
desk, gasping for breath. The nearest dorm is 4 blocks away.

My finger is almost to 'enter' the shutdown on the desk computer.

"Quick," they gasp, "we need some help (puff, puff) on a paper."

My finger stops. "What class is the paper for?"

"It's (gasp, puff) for a speech...(puff, gasp) we have to give at (whew!)
8:45 tomorrow morning."

"Have you picked a topic for your speech?"

"Yes, we want to do it on procrastination."

[absolutely true story, give or take a puff or gasp]
