OT, but important - Static Electricity While Pumping Gas

Thought this was worth passing along to anyone you can think of.....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another reason to stay in bed every morning.

Seriously, as our fuel specialist, Carl Thorpe, would tell you, static and
fuel absolutely don't mix. Professional fuel people always remain aware of
the constant potential for static sparking, and take appropriate
precautions to prevent it. But any Bozo with a car and a credit card can
drive into a gas station and pump 20 gallons of highly volatile fuel into
their gas tank.

In Alaska, men get back in their cars while pumping gas too, when it's 20
or 30 below.

Short lesson? Ground yourself to your car (i.e., just touch it) before you
touch the pump nozzle.
