$4,602-$5,443 monthly


 The Department of Education and Early Development, Division of
Libraries,  Archives & Museums in Juneau is recruiting for the head of the
State Archives and Records Services program. The State Archivist is
responsible for the management of current state records and preservation of
noncurrent public records of permanent value. This position is responsible
for the management and operation of the Archives, Records Management
Program, and Central Microfilm. Duties include direct or indirect
supervision of nine positions; capital and operating budget development;
planning activities related to program
development; and consultant services related to local archives and records
programs. This position also chairs the State Historical Records Advisory
Board. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for State of Alaska
State Archivist. The best candidate will demonstrate proven success as a
leader, communicator, and team player. The Division seeks candidates with a
high level of initiative who can adapt to a changing work environment while
maintaining a strong commitment to customer service.
