Rod, I would suggest reading the "Hymn of the Pear" from the Acts of Thomas
or secteions of the story of Thecla from the "Acts of Paul [and Thecla]."
The Greek text is available in the edtion of the Acta Apostolorum Apocrypha
done by Lipsius and Bonnet in three volumes. It was last reprinted by the
Wissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft. You should be able to locate it in any
good theological library.
The Apocryphal Gospels are more difficult to find. The last edition known
to me, though out of print, was done in Spain.
You might find the edition of the Gospel and Apocalypse of Peter (long OP)
by Henry Barclay Swete in a seminary or university library.
