What evidence is usually adduced in support of this verb with the
meaning 'come'? Are there any counterexamples which could be cited
against analyzing it simply as 'be-present', with a prior motion
implicated rather than explicitly stated? Consider a possible English
rendering of Lk 15.27 (parable of the prodigal son returning): "Your
brother is here." One could say a movement is implied, (since
physical laws prevent star-trek-like beaming around), but certainly
it is not in focus in the sentence. Are there any cases where the
motion is entailed by the lexical item itself (e.g. I came from X, to
X, etc., without another motion verb). I'm still waiting on the Mac
acCordance, you see ;-)
