Re: ἐλάμβανε τὴν συντέλειαν in Plutarch's Lives, Pericles, Chapter 13, Section 1

ἐλάμβανε is the imperfect active indicative 3rd singular form, not an infinitive. And yes, past tense. As for the meaning and a "literal" rendering, the translation you supplied seems like a good one and "completion" rather than "end" seems best.

Re: Lucian of Samosata’s A True History

You can download the pdf of the Nimis/Hayes' edition that Barry mentions from their website: http://www.faenumpublishing.com/lucians-a-true-story.html I read through that with someone a couple years ago and it was some of the most entertaining Greek I've read. Read through their edition of The Ass b...

Re: Books Similar to Quasten’s Patrology

There is some useful bibliography in The Fathers of the Church by Hubertus Drobner (Hendrickson, 2007) and Early Christian Greek and Latin Literature: A Literary History by Moreschini and Norelli (Hendrickson, 2005, 2 volumes). Both seem less thorough than Quasten but you might find helpful informat...

Re: B-Greek members map

I was surprised to see two markers right by me but then I saw they just said "Garland" and "Wylie", so I don't know who that actually is.

I worked through the selection then checked myself with it. No judgement here!

Re: Anyone want to work through Dickey's Greek Prose Composition book?

Hope you can join us. Since we're just starting, you aren't very behind. There are 20 numbered chapters and the accents stuff before that. Jonathan, Nathan, and I have all done the accents work, which I'm going to call chapter 0. Let's see if we can all get the "real" chapter 1 done by Saturday. Tho...

Re: Anyone want to work through Dickey's Greek Prose Composition book?

Okay, let's try it. I'll pair up with Jonathan this week since he already sent me his. Who else has done the work and needs a partner?
