Re: Best online Septuagint?

My page is now at GreekDoc.com
It now contains a "re-ordered" Jeremiah, i.e., Jeremiah LXX in the same order as English Jeremiah as well as the LXX order.
Also for the NT, there is both the Nestles and Textus Receptus as well as a parallel of these two.

Re: Best online Septuagint?

As an update, I've sold the motorera.com site.
The Greek Septuagint with analytical lexicon is now found at http://www.GreekDoc.com
The site also includes the NT and the Early Christian Writings.
All the words of each of these texts are included in the analytical lexicon.

Re: ἐπανακάμψυχε

Stephen Carlson,
The text comes from the following site:
http://www.ccel.org/l/lake/fathers/shepherd_d.htm

Your copy shows the obvious infinitive ending which I had supposed it should be.
Thanks for the help.

ἐπανακάμψυχε

I am having trouble identifying ἐπανακάμψυχε which appears to be an Aorist form of ἐπανακάμπτω. It is found in Hermas Similitudes 1:2. ταῦτα οὖν ὁ ἑτοιμάζων εἰς ταύτην τὴν πόλιν οὐ δύναται ἐπανακάμψυχε εἰς τὴν ἰδίαν πόλιν. The context seems to indicate it is an infinitive, but the ending is new to m...

1 Peter 1:11

My son asks the following: In 1 Peter 1:11, we have the phrase εραυνωντες εις τινα η ποιον καιρον. Some think it says the prophets were "investigating who or what time" and others that it says they were "investigating what [time] or what kind of time." But what I want to know is: Does εραυναω + εις ...

Re: Best lexicons available online?

While Perseus is good, it does lack some words contained in the NT, LXX, and Early Christian Writings. I am attempting to include all of them in my lexicon http://www.motorera.com/greek/lexicon/a.html It is also available for Kindle through Amazon at B009GP45LU entitled Biblical Greek Lexicon Cheers...

Re: What Secular Greek texts do you give NT Greek students?

Has anyone tried giving students some Aesop's fables?
I know the Freeman & Lowe A Greek Reader for Schools introduces a few fables at the beginning of their book.
They are available on line as well at http://mythfolklore.net/aesopica/perry/index.htm

Re: newbie..how do I type my verse in greek?

If you have a PC, go to Control Panel, select Change Keyboard, Select Greek (Greece), Greek Polytonic. Hit Add When you are in a document, or this forum, hit Alt+Shift to toggle between English (EN) and Greek (EL). The letters EN or EL should appear at the bottom right corner to show you which langu...

Leacock

Perhaps at first sight, Stephen Leacock's story "Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town" may not seem to have any relevance to the Greek language. However, the humourist does point out some pitfalls that students of Greek might make. I am referring to the fourth chapter on "The Ministrations of the Rev....

Suggested project

I am unable to find a parallel Hebrew-LXX OT in the internet
Would someone be willing to create one. I think it would have merit.
Here is a sample of what I mean:
http://www.motorera.com/tetra/genesis01.html
I haven't gone beyond the first chapter of Genesis.
