I agree that there is real ambiguity in this passage. Do you think the lack of an article in the phrase ὡς δι’ ἑνὸς παραπτώματος (v. 18) is the factor that lead many to translate it as "one trespass"? If that is the factor, I think they would perhaps be mistaken. Some time ago, I did a ve...

In §90 of Morphology of Biblical Greek , Mounce says nominative & vocative participles always take the same form. He cites Smyth's grammar §302. There, Smyth simply makes the same statement with no further explanation. I had a few questions about that. 1) Are they simply wrong? 2) The exceptions...
