Re: Online Conversational Course?
I have done classes with https://www.biblicallanguagecenter.com/ and https://www.conversationalkoine.com/ BLC has a class going currently and CKI doesn't seem to have anything scheduled at the moment. I know BLC is working on the materials for a second Greek online class. I found both to be quite he...

Re: Audio of Revelation?
The Conversational Koine Institute has several readings in a Koine pronunciation available including Revelation chapter 1 I believe. They go for about .99 cents a chapter which is not too bad.

Re: Polis Koine, 2nd edition
I am interested to hear more about this. I am curious how useful it will be to those who have worked at internalizing Greek while using a Koine Era pronunciation. I have used both pronunciations so I wonder if it would be easy or useful to switch back and forth. I have heard a lot of positive things...

Re: Other forms of Greek.
I appreciate the reply! I think I will look at Homer eventually, but it may be down the road a ways. I have enjoyed Greek quite a bit so far so I do want to broaden the scope of my studies to include that period but with Hebrew starting in the fall I probably don't need another project. Thanks for t...

Other forms of Greek.
So I just finished my first year of seminary Koine, and I have started to work my way through Reading Greek put out by JACT (and I'm really enjoying it). I have heard studying Attic is helpful for Koine despite the differences, and I figure I can pick up some new vocab along the way before I start i...

Re: Question about Living Koine materials
I love the newer materials, but how do you go with the pronunciation differences. I'm not a huge fan of imaginary pronunciation :) I have not found it to be a bother to use both. In my seminary classes, which use Erasmian, we are not tested on our pronunciation, and even if we were, I have not forg...

Re: Question about Living Koine materials
Thanks for the reply. I have done the ten video lessons in part one and am doing the reading now. I suspect my estimate of vocab acquisition might have been low as the number of words added each lesson seems to go up, and with significantly more audio in parts 2a and 2b there might be more vocab tha...

Question about Living Koine materials
Howdy! To preface, I have decided to purchase the Living Koine materials to supplement the traditional curriculum that I am doing at seminary. We are using Mounce and next year we will start with Wallace. I have also been using Croy, Dobson, and Rollinson's books to supplement. I have found though, ...

Re: Funk - A Beginning-Intermediate Grammar of Hellenistic G
My earlier response was in terms of BDF (Blass/Debrunner/Funk), the standard reference grammar for NT Greek in English. On the other hand, I have had nothing but praise for Funk's Beginning-Intermediate Grammar of Hellenistic Greek . Some might say that it's linguistic approach is outdated, but I p...

Re: Funk - A Beginning-Intermediate Grammar of Hellenistic G
You're probably going to get divergent perspectives on this question, but you need to realize that BDF is aimed at users who have a familiarity with classical Attic, while the Mounce/Wallace combo seems aimed at (and, I'd guess, used primarily by) those whose grasp of Greek is pretty much restricte...
