Re: Verses with the Most Common Words
How would you conduct the study? What are your conditions? You'd have to state this very clearly, if you do so, I think the data could be generated. The goal is to find phrases, verses, and passages with clusters of common words. Those may be three different studies, with different scopes within wh...

Re: Verses with the Most Common Words
I think a lot of people just start with 1 John or John, which are pretty straightforward. And there are rankings of books by difficulty, we've had a few here, people frequently work their way up the list of books. Is there a need to do this by shorter passages? Would you want to rank based on gramm...

Verses with the Most Common Words
I have been considering how to work more textual material into the curriculum of a introductory New Testament Greek class, under the theory (which I've noticed many people my share in this forum) that students can benefit from getting immersed in the actual use of the language. Feel free to dispute ...

Re: GNT in Music, Ancient and Modern
Well, your choices are (1) to utilize existing tunes (a) Childrens song tunes, (b) Popular music 'pop tunes' or folk tunes (c) Christian song and hymn tunes or (2) write your own. In my opinion, after trying to put to pen more than 100 songs into Koine, tunes like that of 'Seek ye first' and 'On Ea...

Re: GNT in Music, Ancient and Modern
"Would I be memorising this in English?" One of my first motivations, Mr. Hughes, to learn the Biblical languages was just the sheer inconvenience of re-memorizing verses when I switched translations. (Wouldn't it just be nice if I just knew the original? That would save me so much time!)...

GNT in Music, Ancient and Modern
(Warning: Long Introduction, Short Question) As I continue in my efforts for Koine fluency, I have noticed how immensely helpful it is to have GNT passages memorized. I memorized John 14:6 years ago, before I understood anything except for the obvious corresponding words, long before I got any forma...

Re: Koine Conversation
I am talking about tips on how to facilitate a face-to-face meeting with my fellow Greek students at Montana Bible College. I am interested in online interactions if I cannot get something started there. I am not primarily looking for help setting up online spaces for Koine conversation/composition,...

Re: Koine Conversation
Seems like this has been on your minds as well! I am glad that I could spark a discussion-in-the-waiting. I would love to do some written composition, per the course of this thread. However, there has been silence about my main question of conducting a live, interactive Koine conversation group with...

Koine Conversation
Hello, I am a second-year Koine Greek student who is looking to internalize the functions of the language by speaking it. My school (Montana Bible College, Bozeman) teaches languages without a conversational component, and I want to start a conversation group here. I am painfully aware that our gram...
