Re: Dana Harris new beginning Greek introduction

Thank you for the informative reply. I had a year of Greek long ago, and I read best as I can, Im doing grammar review now. Your answer is quite full and informative. I sent off for the Harris book, however I am using the Schwandt book, and I am enjoying that well written book. I like that he promin...

Re: W.J. Hickie, Greek-English Lexicon to the NT

I like that lexicon. I used to carry a copy of it around, from the seminary library, when I was in an elementary Greek class. I liked to carry either Souter's little lexicon, or Hickie, althernating so that someone else could get to use it too. I liked them more than the Barclay Newman lexicon. Than...

Re: notes on the Greek tems in a NT

Who was Bucephalus, he had a role in carrying the Greek language, didn't he? Bucephalus (Βουκέφαλος, "ox-head") was the celebrated (coins, art) horse of Alexander the Great. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucephalus Yes, that was what I meant, Bucephalus had a galloping big role in spr...

Re: notes on the Greek tems in a NT

The reason I made a query here was to get someone else's views, who are able to judge or report on the book. We don't discuss translations on B-Greek. Is there anything in scope to discuss here? I thought Leonard said he wasn't interested in the translation but in the value or usefulness of Ann Nyl...

Re: notes on the Greek tems in a NT

I just got back to where I can be online. Let me render an apology, if my query is considered to be an attack. I reckon I do have a certain amount of tone, and so at the season of Christmas, let me not tromp upon someone going about doing what they love. I did read on amazon, and on her own site as ...

notes on the Greek tems in a NT

The book I am referring to here is a translation of the New Testament(the source, she calls it. What I am inquiring about is not the translation, but the fact that Ann Nyland claims to have included many fine notes in her translation, lexicographical notes. She says she has done all of this linguist...

Re: Greek according to Luke

It is interesting that Mr. LaSor chose the book of Acts. Thanks for the note about how you found that book to be. You had a good thorough course of introduction to Greek via LaSor, didn't you? I briefly looked at it(LaSor) years ago at seminary, it struck me how that he must have been a Bible transl...
