Re: Hoping for real reading proficiency

As for finding words below 10x, I've yet to find an easy way to do this. I have Accordance, but I'm not sure how to search specifically. My Google searches haven't turned up any good advice. I also have a reader's lexicon, but that is time consuming to type out for each book. Any ideas how to get t...

Re: Is learning accents really important?

As you can see, there's a whole range of opinions. I'm a fan of "learn what you need as you need it", and "the brain learns language better through exposure than through memorization". So for a beginning student, you need awareness of which syllable is stressed when pronouncing a word. You need to b...

Re: Greek Grammar Book Order for Self Learning

David Alan Black's Learn to Read New Testament Greek seems more user friendly to me, and more oriented toward reading Greek in Greek. Does anyone know if there is a workbook for this? Technically yes, there is a corresponding workbook of the same name, by different authors. However I cannot in good...

Re: Greek Grammar Book Order for Self Learning

Welcome to learning Greek, we're excited your starting on the journey with us! The site you listed mentions "Please do NOT go out and purchase all of the books listed here.", and I would humbly submit that for someone just starting out in Greek, you really only need 2 or 3 things total for at least ...

Re: Croy 1999 vs 2011

All I'm concerned about is that vocab & chapter ordering/content haven't changed. So if copyright on 2011 says 1999, that sounds like just a reprint. Thanks, Stephen.

Croy 1999 vs 2011

Does anyone know what the differences are between the 1999 and 2011 versions of Croy's text (https://www.eerdmans.com/Products/6733/a-primer-of-biblical-greek.aspx) are? My google skills are failing to answer whether these are just separate printings or actually different editions with distinct cont...

Small correction - unless the 2nd ed. differs from the 1st, definitions are given for words <30, not <50.

Re: Life after a basic grammar

So, I'm about to finish my first intro grammar! It's been a really fun journey, but I know I'm just at the beginning of my studies. What are your recommendations on where to go next? p.s. Congrats on making it through boot camp. ;) I think the biggest encouragement I can offer is to find ways to se...

Re: Life after a basic grammar

So, do you think after only having done a basic grammar, I could start reading a readers version?Which editions do you recommend? I've been happy with Zondervan's reader (although I think I have 1st ed) For someone just starting a reader's GNT, here was how I eased into it: It's a big jump from iso...
