Re: Mark Illustrated with Greek
Jonathan, It is fascinating that you use images each week in your instruction of Greek. I liked the name tag idea. I have students the first week go to the dry erase board and write out their full name in Greek sounds/characters. It is a good exercise that helps them learn: 1) sounding, 2) alphabet,...

Re: Mark Illustrated with Greek
Jonathan, You mentioned posing of actors with costume, etc., that is what our illustrator did, and from these people and poses, illustrated the scene. Thus, I think, the illustrations are very people focused and may miss things at times, like the night setting, in the above instance. But, I have to ...

Re: Mark Illustrated with Greek
Hi all, Any rendition as composition is interpretive. Agreed, Conrad. Such are performances and these will be preferred by some and not others. Sometimes each has its respective strength. I feel this way with Widor's 5th Symphony--the differences in style is quite amazing--speed, and accentuation. I...

Re: Mark Illustrated with Greek
Thanks Stephen, Eile, and Emma. I think Mark Illustrated accomplishes much, and we at GlossaHouse are happy with it, knowing that it is not perfect. However, if we are able to improve it, especially where the drawing/setting doesn't match as well as it should the content, then I am happy to do it. I...

Re: Mark Illustrated with Greek
Hi Stephen and Jason, Thanks for your feedback on this bottom left image. I am not the illustrator, nor do I fell the need to defend the images. You raise some really important points. Agreed, there should be more people there, it should be dark for sure, but how one could identify a healed person f...

Re: GlossaHouse Greek Resources
Hi Jason, Thanks for your comments. Here are pp.11-12 of the Didache. This is on sale currently on our website. We are excited for the next three volumes to come out possibly in the next half year. What makes these volumes nice is their size and that they can give one a break from screen fatigue. Ma...

Re: George Guthrie text-lingusitics
Stirling, I am new to the forum, and saw your post. Let me say a few words. Unfortunately, there are about as many types of discourse analysis as there are practitioners. One would need to have a substantial introduction explaining what text-linguistics approach is being used, defining terms, etc. b...

GlossaHouse Greek Resources
Hello, I just joined B-Greek, but I have been wanting to join for some time. I co-own GlossaHouse and we are producing a variety of resources for Greek instruction, from both conversational and translational perspectives. This past weekend I presented at SBL in the Greek Language and Linguistics sec...
