Re: Modern Koine pronunciation resources

I downloaded the LXX files and they were very well done. I think the set is complete except for a few of the Psalms. I hope that Bible.is will be able to put them back up at some point. They were originally at the Vivlos site (Greek Bible Society) which used Flash player. Adobe announced they will ...

Re: Workbook Questions Clarification

See the Aaron Hornkohl paper on the 4220Foundation website. I think that this is the article you referred to: Training Bible Translators in Israel: The Value of Modern Hebrew for Mastering Biblical Hebrew . Please correct me if I'm mistaken. https://iblt.ac/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Hornkohl-Value...

Re: Workbook Questions Clarification

By the way, Brandon. You could sign up for BLC's free trial version of Living Koine Greek Part 1 Online. It won't include the full Live Video Class experience, but it'll at least get you started and give you a taste of Part 1.

Re: Workbook Questions Clarification

Thank you for your response Dr. Buth! I agree completely that communicating in every way (speaking, writing, listening, etc.) with that language is a huge help to learning it. That's how I innately learned Tagalog growing up and the same with English--I never had to read a grammar. My follow up que...

Re: Modern Koine pronunciation resources

Are there any free resources for Modern Koine pronunciation users? Hearing something in Erasmian and having to (sometimes literally) translate it to Modern+breathing marks is slowing me down big time. Below are some recordings that overlap largely with what's been posted in this thread. Unfortunate...

Re: Hello - return to bgreek

Oh yes... ;-) I know that what I'll be doing in my teaching won't quite (!) satisfy some folk - but I think I can learn lots from them, even if we can't replicate what they've achieved. With my change of focus I'm reading more of the stuff on pedagogy here and it's already helpful. Hefin You have t...

Thanks, Barry. You're one of the first ones who comes to mind when I think of exhortations to read Greek broadly and deeply as Greek.

Long-Time Listener, First-Time Caller?

Greetings, My name is Adam Olean, which just so happens to be my username as well! I began teaching myself Koine Greek in earnest around 2010, especially after acquiring Bill Mounce's Basics of Biblical Greek . While working through his introductory grammar and memorizing paradigm after paradigm—eve...
