Thanks! I have been using the Athenaze text and workbook. The writers have always had that construction thus far, but then in the workbook #1, page 33, paragraph 4, line 1, the second part (de) disappears. The usual construction then resumes at the end of the paragraph. I appreciate your help. Mark ...

In the construction translated as, "On the one hand...but on the other hand," does the second Greek word absolutely have to appear? I found a text in which it was left out. The writer of that text always includes it, so I figured that he forgot to put it in that time. Or, is this a liberty...

A prefix question
In the word "apotheosis," does "apo" mean "from"? I scoured my Liddell and Scott lexicon and found basically that meaning. A friend asked if it means "becoming."

Thanks for the previous help that I've received. In Athenaze on page 63 at the very top, why is "protos" (sorry I don't have the ability to cite it in Greek) shown as an adjective? Shouldn't it be an adverb there answering a "when" question, hence, "proton"? Is it an ad...
