Re: Eph.3.21
Thanks. It helps. Since "ἐν Χριστῷ is a distinct Pauline expression", I just wondered that it possibly meant it is locative. It could mean anything as many thologian suggests. Then, I thought that if "ἡ ἐκκλησία" is instumental. It is possible in NT Greek, isn't it? However, &quo...

Re: Eph.3.21
Thank you for some suggestions. Maybe, it is because unclear in NT Greek, it becomes theological issue.
What does "in Christ" mean will be theological question, not NT Greek?

Re: Eph.3.21
Well, KJV takes ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ as locative and ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ as instrumental. Most commentators say if instrumental, both are instrumentals. However, I wonder Paul meant the other way around. Some scholars think when Paul uses the word in Christ, it means locative. I wonder any suggestion about th...

Eph.3.21
Eph. 3.21 αὐτῷ ἡ δόξα ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ καὶ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ εἰς πάσας τὰς γενεὰς τοῦ αἰῶνος τῶν αἰώνων· ἀμήν.
Is it possible to think "ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ" as instrumental and "ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ " as locative?

Re: ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ and ἐν Χριστῷ in Pauline text
Thank you for the answer.
I wonder why "ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ" is mostly in Ephesians except the one I posted in 1Corinthians and another one in 2Corinthians.
However "ἐν Χριστῷ" is everywhere.
Is it just structual?

ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ and ἐν Χριστῷ in Pauline text
ὥσπερ γὰρ ἐν τῷ Ἀδὰμ πάντες ἀποθνῄσκουσιν, οὕτως καὶ ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ πάντες ζῳοποιηθήσονται. (1Cor.15:22)
Is there any difference between ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ and ἐν Χριστῷ in Pauline text?
Can I say former is instrumental and latter is locative?

Re: epignosis
As I read where Paul uses "epignosis" (such as Romans 10:2), I don't think there is any big difference between "gnosis" and "epignosis." However I heard a pastor preached that we shoudn't just "know intelectually (gnosis)" Jesus, but "know by experience (...

epignosis
I wnat you to help me understand clearly how Paul use "epignosis."
O'Brien (Philippians, NIGTC) points out that Paul uses it 15 times.
My question is as he said, "whether Paul intended a different meaning from gnosis when he used this word epignosis."
