Re: GJohn 11:26 πας ο ζων και πιστευων

However, I have been reading the whole Gospel of John and have found the order of ὁ ζῶν καὶ πιστεύων to be in the reverse order of John's similar uses in the rest of the Gospel and Letters. I don't have a g...

Learning Greek/English Vocabulary

I have been asked by a father to help his 11-year-old son learn to spell better. He is in high level Spelling Bee Contests. The dad wants his son to learn Greek roots/stems/words so he can figure out how to spell words in English that are of Greek origin. I have Bruce Metzger's Lexical Aids for Stud...

Re: Blessed by the Spirit

For what it is worth, concerning Μακάριοι οἱ πτωχοὶ τῷ πνεύματι, I have seen it translated "Blessed are the spiritually destitute." :?:

Verbs with D.O. in Genitive

Is there anyway to predict whether or not a verb takes its direct object in the Genitive? Or, do you just have to memorize a list?

Teaching Declensions and Paradigms

In the section on case endings, Mounce on page 33 suggested you learn the paradigms left to right. I learned my paradigms top to bottom. Which method did you use and why?
