Remember there's my polytonic Greek typing tutor at:

The instructions are just for macOS but if someone with other keyboards can help, I can add other instructions.

Re: Anyone want to work through Dickey's Greek Prose Composition book?

OK, here's one I'm having difficulty with. Can someone help me understand the difference in accentuation for παιδεύσαι (optative) versus παίδευσαι (imperative) versus παιδεῦσαι (infinitive)? The παιδεύσαι is just the recessive accent treating the αι as long (because optative, see below). The παίδευ...

Re: Errors In Revelation?

In terms of producing "a list of nouns and adjectives..." - for the purposes of this original thread, a listing of all 2nd declension *feminine* nominals in verses with adjective modifiers of any gender I think would help put a nail in this particular coffin. Ah, so there's a syntax quest...

Re: Errors In Revelation?

I've now read the thread and I'd add that my proposed new tagging scheme for gender in MorphGNT allow for "masculine or feminine but not neuter" for things like two-termination adjectives:

Re: Errors In Revelation?

I basically want a set of inflectional classes for each kind of word that can be inflected. Traditionally, we have talked about first, second, and third declension for nouns and adjectives, and many books seem to have ~7 categories for verbs. From what we've discussed, I suspect you may have ideas ...

Re: Errors In Revelation?

I wonder how far along James is with this ... I'm a lot further with verbs than nominals but the infrastructure is in place and I can pretty quickly make progress on nominals, especially to serve specific use cases. I haven't looked at this thread in detail, but what sort of annotation are you look...

Re: Oxia vs tonos accent

Polytonic users have special needs and deferring to a montonic authority resulted in a sub-optimal solution. I'm still convinced they botched it. The Unicode Technical Committee _may_ agree. When I requested precomposed characters be added for cases where there is a macron AND accent (e.g. in dicti...

Re: Non-formal vocatives

Okay, so if I am understanding this right, the vocatives you changed to nominatives are still vocatives, and indeed are still vocatives in form (but just happen to also share their form with the nominative). More precisely, they could be vocatives but their form is indistinguishable from that of no...

Re: Non-formal vocatives

By “non-formal vocatives” I simply mean vocatives that don't have a contrasting form but just use the nominative form. As my analysis is only interested in form, not function, I didn't want to distinguish. For similar reasons, I'm moving towards this proposal for gender: https://github.com/morphgnt/...

Re: Prefixes

For preverbs I have: https://github.com/morphgnt/morphological-lexicon/blob/master/projects/preverbs/verbs.txt which is fairly well curated. More problematic (partly because some of it may be derived uncritically from Greenlee's analysis and not double checked): https://github.com/morphgnt/morpholog...
