Re: Dickey, Composition: Ch 0, Exercise A

Note that I've changed the topic to include only Exercise A (from pages 5–6). There is a LOT to cover in that one exercise, so I figured it was a good idea (as someone suggested) that we break it up by exercise and not by chapter.

I hope that's acceptable!

Re: Group Working Through Dickey's Greek Composition

I tend to think the more subdivided the threads, actually the better. So yes, I'd like to see threads for each chapter as: "general questions about the grammar raised", then "preliminary exercises", "sentences", and "prose analysis". Once we see how this group will take off and have opened a subfor...

Re: Use B-Greek for Dickey's composition book?

By the way, the prefaced material and first exercise are available online as a free PDF. We can get started even before my copy arrives, if you guys would like.

Eric,

I've proposed something in the Staff Forum. We'll get back on this soon.

Are you referring to this book?
Yep! That's the one.
I've placed an order. It should be here by Aug 5, if Amazon isn't exaggerating.

Are you referring to this book?

If so, I live in Israel and it will take a little while for the book to arrive. I will certainly order it and attempt to work through it with you. Just let me know.

Re: Koine Greek Whatsapp group

Can you give an example of how WhatsApp can be used for language learning? I'm not sure that it would be worth getting messages while you're sleeping. ;) I mean, if someone sends a voice message while you're sleeping on the other side of the world (which might wake some people up), then you want to ...

Re: Hi everyone

I’m just starting out learning Koine Greek so I can read the Bible in the original Greek. I started learning two years ago using the Mounce book, but didn’t get very far because I’m trying to avoid using any glosses or translation. I recently found the online Koine Greek class on biblicallanguagece...

Re: Why not start with modern Greek?

It's obviously the same situation with Hebrew. Learning modern Hebrew will only assist in learning biblical Hebrew, but learning modern Hebrew is not sufficient for proficiency in the biblical language. I think we'll agree that the case is the same with modern Greek and the biblical or classical for...
