Re: Greek Grammar Terms List?

Hi Wes, did you have any initial leads? A quick google search yields things like:

Re: Emma's picture book idea

Another potential source of images is to partner with someone who already has a corpus of illustrations reflecting our primary content targets. Keith Neely & team at FREEillustratedBible.com have illustrated the entire Bible, graphic-novel style. They've got the (English) Biblical text overwritten o...

Re: Emma's picture book idea

I will add, however, that there is a greater danger that we'll end up with non-standard greek in the novel composition books. And especially if we're talking about this as a good project for newish students of Greek, I think we would want to steer them towards using attested texts. There's plenty to...

Re: Emma's picture book idea

I love those, Stephen! On "contains some novel compositions" vs. "contains only extant Greek text", I think the community will benefit from picture books of both types. But I think clearly marking which category a book belongs to will be useful. There will continue to be many Greek students who desi...

Re: Best Passages to Read after 1st Year Greek

Very neat, Jonathan! I really haven't thought more about measures of difficulty rating, so this gave me some things to chew on. It occurs to me that measures of difficulty really must be tailored to where a student started their Greek journey. Obviously the specific vocabulary list they've been intr...

Re: The Goldilocks Method - We Need Simple Stories

While not quite the same as simple, sustained stories, thematic picture books may also be of use in this direction. When I wanted to start developing some fluency in Spanish, I found the "New Reader"-type books for kids were great. Lots of pictures to give context, and 2-3 words on a page, with the ...

...it might be even more helpful to use it the other way around... I spoke in terms of "learn the textbook chapter, then go do this practice reading", but only because that's what I needed to improve my own Greek skills...reading practice to reinforce the forms I had various levels of familiarity w...

New book-in-the-works announcement: Practice Reading Greek

I've been working on a new project for awhile, and wanted to share a sample and get some feedback on the concept. I'm creating what I envision as a 'reading practice' workbook, to provide students with far more text than they are typically introduced to in standard Koine Greek textbooks. This projec...

Yes, your explanation makes sense. I was also thrown off since MorphGNT tags this as coming from τις, not τίς. I'll report that bug to James.

Re: Best Passages to Read after 1st Year Greek

What are you using to generate these lists? Were you using the straight GBI syntax trees, the lowfat version, or a combination? Did you use Nestle1904 or SBLGNT? Please do give us feedback on the trees as you use them. So far I've been working with the regular GBI syntax trees for the SBLGNT text, ...
