Thus, the present indicative of verbs like βασιλεύω, εἰμι, ἔχω, οἶδα, ῥέω is never used as a histor...

Re: Links not working at BiblicalLanguageCenter.com
Thank you for these. Yes, we have been alerted that something is wrong and are trying to get it back up though the people in charge are on vacation. Meanwhile, the Hebrew ulpans are happily going forward. 'Shimson' module starts tomorrow and the 'Jonah' class heads out to the Galilee. Fresno Greek i...

Re: "Semantic Priority Grammars"?
The question is similar to dictionaries. dictionaries can be listed according to alphabet, according to *root, or according to semantic domain. In order to know a language in its length and breadth, both structural categories and functional categories must be controlled. And an accurate, good, and u...

Re: 01: Note 1
Porterites, Campbellites, and Deckerites are much more common in NT circles than in Rijksbaron's circles. Would we need to modify this note? I checked the 1984 edition of the book. It is pre-Porter, but the wording of this note is the same. I wonder who Rijksbaron's target was? Perhaps his target w...

Re: 01: The Semantic Value of the Tense Stems
On the future passive, you can see that the -θη- + -σ- was a "theta-eta" development with -σ- . That is, "Theta-eta entered both the aorist system and the future system.
